Kuniaki Nobukawa & the Development of <\/strong>

<\/strong>
The Legacy of a Distinguished Karate Master Kuniaki Nobukawa Sensei began his Karate-Do journey in 1960 at the age of 13. Inspired by a neighboring karate practitioner, he soon developed a deep passion for the martial art and became a dedicated disciple of Chojiro Tani, one of the foremost students of Kenwa Mabuni, the founder of Shito-Ryu Karate-Do. Through years of disciplined training and commitment to traditional Karate-Do, Nobukawa Sensei steadily developed his technical skill, leadership, and teaching philosophy.

Leadership within Tani-ha Shitoryu. In 1974, at the age of 27, Nobukawa Sensei became the head of the
Tani-ha Shitoryu Seikukai \u2013 Inami Branch<\/strong>, which was officially recognized as a directly controlled branch
of the organization. After many years of contribution and leadership, he withdrew from the organization in 1988 and established his own independent martial arts organization known as: 
Tani-ha Shitoryu Kai Syukokai \u201cRenshikan\u201d  <\/strong><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

The name Renshikan<\/strong> represents the spirit of continuous improvement, dedication, and the pursuit of technical excellence. Under his leadership, the organization rapidly expanded, producing many highly skilled practitioners and successful competitors. Several students represented Japan in prestigious national tournaments, including the National Sports Festival<\/strong>, All Japan Championships<\/strong>, and international-level competitions.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Advanced Training & Technical Development<\/strong>

During this period, Nobukawa Sensei also trained extensively for five years under the renowned master Teruo Hayashi, founder of Hayashi-ha Shitoryu. This advanced study further deepened his understanding of traditional Karate-Do, Kobujutsu, technical application, and instructional methodology. By combining the teachings and technical principles of both Chojiro Tani and Teruo Hayashi, Nobukawa Sensei gradually developed his own unique system and interpretation of Shitoryu Karate.

Recognition & Achievement
<\/strong>
Following the passing of Chojiro Tani in 1998, Nobukawa Sensei continued contributing to the Shitoryu Syukokai Union and later served as Vice Executive President after its organizational restructuring. In recognition of his exceptional contribution to Karate-Do: In 2000, he was awarded the prestigious rank of 8th Dan Hanshi by the Shitoryu Syukokai Union.In 2010, he successfully passed the Japan Karate-Do Federation (JKF) 8th Dan Examination and was further honored with the distinguished teaching title of Hanshi. These achievements reflected his lifelong dedication, technical mastery, and leadership within traditional Japanese martial arts.

Birth of Nobukawa-ha Shitoryu Karate-Do<\/strong>
Through decades of study, teaching, and refinement, Nobukawa Sensei established:
Nobukawa-ha Shitoryu Karate-Do. <\/strong>
This style preserves the traditional foundations of Shitoryu while integrating the technical insights, training methods, and philosophies inherited from both Chojiro Tani and Teruo Hayashi.

Continuing the Legacy.<\/strong>
Today, the organization continues under the name: Japan Karate-Do Nobukawa-ha Shitoryu Kai. The organization actively promotes the growth and preservation of traditional Karate-Do through domestic and international dojo branches, seminars, instructor development, and global martial arts exchange programs.
